Question
We have a 3 year old beardie. Up until last week she was doing great. We have the proper lighting, cage etc. She seems to only eat super worms for the past few months, and there have some days where we haven't calcium powdered them though. She hasn't eaten since last week and hasn't pooped in a few weeks. She also started " jerking her head and walking like she is drunk.  We are worried she is very sick. I don't know where to take her to to get looked at.  Please help! We are in Oakville, Ontario

Answer
Hi DeeDee, The Burloak Animal clinic is where I would suggest you go, Dr. Zenker has been treating exotics for many years.

It is normal for an adult bearded's appetite to diminish at this time of year as they enter brumation. Many beardeds will develop a strong preference for mealworms, that is quite common. Mealworms are easier to catch and also higher in fat then crickets. The possible neurological symptom you describe is a cause for concern though . Good luck with your vet appt.

This is Dr. Zenker's info and clinic directions
