Question
I am getting a 20 gallon cage for my leopard gecko and i was wondering if i need a heat lamp and an under tank heater?I was thinking about getting the stuff from Petsmart but on the Internet i checked the prices and it says like 19.99 to 29.99 so im not sure how much it would be so could you tell me how much it would be for a 20 gallon tank, heat lamp, and 20 gal undertank heater would cost for my leopard gecko.

Answer
Hello Liv,

A 20 gallon tank is perfect for a leopard gecko.  You can get some non adhesive shelf liner, or colored felt for the substrate liner for the bottom of the tank.
Yes you need an undertank heater as well as a low wattage basking lamp, too.

That is a good price on a heater.  I don't think you will find it cheaper than that.
Just get a clamp light from Home Depot or Lowes for less than $6 or so.  Then just use a regular lightbulb for the basking/heating.  That is all you need other than a little hide/cave & a half log or two for him to climb on.

That is pretty basic of a setup, also.
