Question
Hi
We have a mountain horned dragon (1 month owned) and she has laid 10 eggs.  We would like to try and hatch these eggs or supply the best care to them and the dragon.  Do I separate from the mother? Will the mother bring these eggs to full term?  Will they be fertilized?
Thank you very much for any info you can help us with

Answer
Hello Mark, first off congrats on the new eggs. You can separate the eggs if you would like, it does make a higher chance of hatching. I will include some links at the bottom of the answer with care for incubation. You will want to be sure the female has a lot of vitamin supplements and a healthy diet as egg laying takes a lot out of reptiles. If the hatchlings are housed with the mother there is a chance the mother will kill them. Its not very nice but its the way life works. The mother will be territorial and will not want to share her home. You will need separate enclosures for them as they get older.
As for fertilization, if she has been in contact with a mature male then it is likely they are fertile however they can lay eggs without any fertilization and the eggs will be duds and the female will lay several clutches a season. Which if not fertile can be frozen then tossed out.
Here is some EXCELLENT information on egg laying, egg incubation, breeding, and hatchling care. I hope it helps
