Question
I have a female bearded dragons that is approximately 18 month old have had since she was a baby. She iS in a fairly large glaSS encloSure with a few tank decorationS, sand, basking log.  her heat source is a single day light bulb that is turned off at night. I do you have a couple questions to ask you. When she Was a hatchling she had a rock dropped on her tail. It has healed nicely, no infection. I have never noticed it as a problem, but I am curious to know if this could cause health problems in the future. ?
over the last couple weeks I have noticed she isn't eating. I tried a variety of fruits and vegetables, even super worms. My dragon sleep all day underneath her basking area. 3 days in a row she wouldn't come out. She is not dehydrated, and haven't lost any weight as far as I can tell. Externally I don't think she has mites. Veterinarian is 3 hours away, too far to travel. Do you have any suggestions? Is there another way I can make sure she Is gettIng her nutrItIon?

Answer
Hello Charlotte,

Dropping a rock on her tail could cause injury to the bone or nerves in the tail which could contribute to arthritis later on.
Do you use a UVB light for her?  If so, which type & brand do you use?
How often do you use calcium?
Do you have any pictures of her I could see?
Is she having trouble supporting herself on all fours or climbing?

What are the temperatures in her tank right now & what type of thermometer are you using to measure the temperatures?
It sounds like right now she is brumating a little bit.  If she is maintaining her weight during brumation that is quite normal.
If she is not eating, you can get her some chicken or turkey baby food along with some squash baby food & feed that to her with either a plastic dropper or syringe.  They usually like the flavors.
