Purchasing anole as a pet

Where should we purchase an anole for a pet?  I realize now that the local pet store chain is not a good idea.

These animals are very difficult to find captive bred.  My best advice would be to put 'wanted' ads out on reptile forums.

Anoles require more equipment and skill to keep than most people realize, and wild-caught animals must be deparasitized and acclimated, and a good number of them do not survive that process.  Brown anoles and bark anoles tend to be hardier than green anoles.

I would recommend them for intermediate keepers, not so much for beginners.
