Question
I have a female day gecko who recently lost her sister, she is about a year old. She started to shed recently and is normally very good and quick at getting it off however, this is the first shed since her sister died and she does not seem to be bothered to do anything. she is eating and drinking but is nowhere near as active as she was before. Is she grieving? we mist her regularly and her tempreture and humidity is right. We do not handle her because of the delicacy of her skin, but are desperate to help her any suggestions?

Answer
She isn't grieving but sister may have helped her eat her shed.  Do you have a rough stone in her habitat to rub against?  A water pan to soak in and keep humidity up?  If she continues to retain shed you may want to take her to her vet who can show you how to properly help her remove shed from those delicate toes.  Once she has been encouraged to remove and eat this shed, her natural instinct should take over.
