hi i am thinking about breeding wax worms but are wax worms a good source of food can they constantly eat them or should they only be for special occasions i need help fast because my new gecko is 8 month old Ive had him 2/3 weeks and i have only ever seen him eat 1 cricket and he only eats worms and i hate going the pet shop and spending 2.50 on 20 worms every week i know how to breed meelworms as well but wax worms are easier if i shouldn't use them constantly ile use meelworms instead but i would prefer wax worms, he will always have crickets though because the female loves them pleas reply

Hi Curtis,
Wax worms are for an occasional treat only.  They are very high in fat and will lead to fatty liver disease if fed all the time.
Since you breed mealworms, you have a good supply of the fresh shed mealies(the ones that are white) which are good to feed because they have less or no hard outer body shell.
Another worm to feed is the superworm if your leo is large enough to handle them.
(not the ones they call giant meal worms as they are treated with hormones)
If your one leo prefers worms, it may be because he doesn't like to chase the crickets.  You can break the hind legs on the crickets which will prevent them from jumping.
You can also try offering some baby food chicken to him which may get his interest.  Just touch it to his lips and he may lick at it. Also, roaches and locust, silkworms, phoenix worms, butterworms can be offered.
You may also want to give him his own tank and set up as he may not feel secure with a cage mate.
