lizard-id Hi. Can you please help identify this lizard? Photos taken April 2, 2010 in northwest Alabama. Thanks ahead.

That is a female green anole (Anolis carolinensis).

This native anole species used to be sold in pet stores as 'American chameleons', because they can change their color from brown to green.

Males lack the strong white dorsal stripe, and have a longer head.
