Question
Hi' chelsey this is Roger about the set-up of the for the bottom of the tank inside the enclosure I change my mind about putting granite tile for to house my gecko, cause it is made of stone and it looks to think for the bottom because a substrate is only so pose to be 1 1/2 inch at the bottom.so the ceramic tile is only a qt. of an inch thick, and I want to see a manufacture in tile today and he sugested that the ceramic is better then the granite tile stone that if water was to spill it would soak into the tile and with the heating pad I don't want that to crack the tank on the bottom but in little of time I will get some ceramic tile for the bottom enclosure, and as for the lighting the dome will be looking down right in the middle behind the back of the tank with a lamp stand by zoomed small size since the height is only 16" H and the stand adjusts to 24" long by15"W, and then I am going to put a ESU Basking Platform - small 12"Lx5"Wx4"H it will go right in the middle of the enclosure bottom of the tank underneath the lighting so he can Bask like the sun, cool!uhu.

Answer
Hey Roger,
That sounds like it will work great! Good move asking a tile manufacturure, I had no idea the granite tile would soak up liquid! Ceramic sounds like it will work great. You are going to have one happy gecko!

You should really consider breeding once you get accustomed to your new gecko, you will be a great pet owner. I think you would enjoy breeding so much once you are ready for it, I can tell you will be like me where you get into it and then you wonder, what's next? and that is breeding! It's great raising babies of any species. It's so fun. You make descent cash when time comes to sell them too!

Good luck with everything, feel free to tell me how everything is going from time to time, I love hearing from people about how their pets are doing!

Best wishes, Chelsey
