I think something is wrong with my bearded dragon

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I've had my bearded dragon since last July, when we got her she was only a few weeks old. She has had no problems in the past except at Christmas time when she went off her food a bit. She now spends most of her time sat on her basking spot with her eyes closed. I left her a few days, I didn't think it was a problem, but now i'm worried. She isn't as active as she normally is and when I get her out she opens her eyes then a minute or so later she will close them again. When this all started she was shedding on the top of her head near her eyes, I thought that maybe she is shedding her actual eyes like she has done before, as she opens and closes her eyes several times before closing them properly. Except from that Christmas, this is the only time she has not been her usual self. Even with her eyes closed she still responds to loud sounds, she will move her head in the direction but will rarely open her eyes to see whats going on. This may sound silly to you and maybe obvious but I don't want anything bad to happen to her as I have spent almost all my free time with her, so please if, you will, help me to understand what this is about.

ANSWER: Hello Gemma,

Well, I have one main question for you.  What type & brand of UVB light are you using?  Is it a flourescent tube bulb, a compact or a coil?  I need the specific brand name of it, please.  There are a few out there that are causing horrific eye problems.
What type of basking light are you using, a bright white light or a colored bulb?
IF you have the Zilla T-50 desert series flourescent tube bulb, or the Reptiglo 10 flourescent tube bulb, please turn them off now!!  If you have ANY compact or coil UVB light, please turn them off now!!
Let me know how she is doing tomorrow.

QUESTION: Hi, well her light is UV sun lux, from Hobby its also 160 watt. She has a rock underneath where the light is where she basks, it is a bright white light. Before we got this light, which was last week, we had a light which was advanced UV heat from real sun I believe. We don't have a tube light of any kind. Both of these lights give off UVB and UVA.
She seemed to just want to sleep , usually she is most happiest in the morning waking up at 6am and running about. Very annoying to me as she is in my room!

Answer
Hello Gemma,

Well, you need to be very careful with buying UVB lights as there are alot of them that claim they give off UVB lights, but they don't or they emit UVC.  Do you still have the boxes for both of those lights?
So basically you have a bright white light that is a basking light, & the Sun lux is a mercury vapor bulb then?  I do not think that one is a good one.  There is no feedback on it from the UCB testing group.   I need the brand.  If it is made in China, I co not recommend it because there have been some really bad bulbs from there.  The Real Sun is not a good one either.
If you want a safe Mercury vapor bulb try getting either one of these:
T-rex active UV heat, or the Megaray.  Those are really the only 2 that I recommend.  I am afraid you are using one that is harmful.
I really would take that light out now.
How is she doing today?
