iguanas and tree frogs

Question
My boys have two white's tree frogs (had them for about 9 months) in a huge tank, they would like to know if they can put their iguana (about 9 months also, about 14" , some of the tail broke off a few weeks ago) in the same tank as its tank is too small now.

Answer
Hi Laura, I have a similar aged iguana to yours and also keep White's treefrogs and it is not a combination that I would recommend. I really think your frogs will suffer for it. A young iguana crawling over sleeping white's (with their notoriously sharp iguana claws) would cause considerable injury to amphibian skin and any skin laceration to frogs easily invites infection. Keeping adequate hygiene levels for your frogs health would also become problematic. Frogs really depend on clean water and having to share a water source with an iguana would be an issue. Iguanas are poor candidates for community tanks in general but particularly so for combining with amphibians.
