Leopard Gecko not feeling well...

Question
Hi Tracie. I am thankful I have found this site and I hope you can shed some light on our geckos illness.  About a week and a half ago, Peco, our 5 year old gecko started to displaying characteristics of shedding. However her skin has not shed. Instead she has become, listless, will not eat, her skin has dark grey shades now and her tail is very thin. There is no doubt in my mind that she is ill. She is not acting like herself. She will barely get herself up to sunbathe and will not hunt at all for her mealworms. I pulled four meals from her ace this morning because she just won't eat. She almost seems dehydrated, from the symptoms I've read, but her skin coloring doesn't seem to fit into that illness. Your help is much appreciated.

Answer
Hello  Renee,

Do you have any pictures of your gecko?
What is your tank setup like?  Do you have a digital probe or temp gun to measure her temperatures & what are the temperatures?
She needs a basking spot of around 88-90 on one end with a cooler end of around 78-82.  A basking light along with an undertank
Do you have a moist/humid hide for her?
I would try to get a fecal exam done on her to see if she has parasites or worms.
Do you give calcium supplementation regularly?
A lot of times, vitamin deficiencies cause shedding issues.

Let me know how she is doing.
Tracie
