Please dont give me a website to look at because i just want to know what the average price is

Answer
OK, well with so little info to go on I'm going to do some assuming here...

I'll assume the turtles in question are the little green red-eared sliders available everywhere.  If so, remember you don't just need a tank.  You need a LARGE tank as those turtles grow up to 14 inches 8-12 is more common.  And no, they won't just stay the same size as the tank you put then in, unless you underfeed them and don't give them everything they need, which is abuse.  I would say 2 of them would need 40 gallons MINIMUM 100 would be better.  You'll also need a filter and you'll probably want some decorations.  I expect you'll spend at least $75 for the tank and the filter (40 gallon), probably $200-300 to really do it right and get the space they need.  Sure you could start smaller and buy bigger later, but why spend money twice?  You're committed to these turtles right?

In addition to the tank you need lighting and basking material (spots).  Your turtles MUST be allowed to get out of the water and bask both in UVB (the B is the important part) light and heat.  You can buy bulbs that do both or you can do it separately.  Either way expect to spend a minimum of $75 of lighting and fixtures.  AND remember your UVB bulbs (depending on type) must be replaced at least once per year-some every 6 months.  For basking spots you can just go outside and find either rocks and/or branches and stack them in the cages so that they come up out of the water and give enough surface area for the turtle to be completely out of the water and well balanced.  Just like you would see along a river bank.

And you'll need food.  Luckily, as your allowance has probably run out by now, food is pretty cheap, $5-10 per month.

As you can see, those $10 turtles are cheap for a reason...  The pet store knows you'll need all this other stuff.  There are cheap ways to keep turtles but most people don't want to deal with dragging a plastic kiddie pool in and out of their garage and building a bird cover and changing the water everyday, and...  You get the idea.

Turtles are one of the cheaper reptiles to buy, but one of the most difficult and expensive to keep.

If you have further questions OR those weren't the turtles you were talking about let me know.
