Question

Bazil
My 7 year old uromastyx has broken his leg simply by me holding him. At this time I cant afford to take him to the vet. I dont want it to become infected and since I cant take him anywhere is there anything I can do to help the recovery? I at least want him to be able to eat even if he wont be able to fully use the leg again. Please help me MacGyver him back to good health

Answer
Honestly, there is no way you can MacGyver a splint as you would for a human.  You will have to contact a vet in your area and attempt to make some type of payment arrangements or something. I am sure there is a vet that would be willing to do so.  Other than that just make everything as accessible as possible so that he doesn't have to use the limb as much.  This is unfortunately one of the risks of owning a reptile pet.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.
