Are box turtles supposed to eat and swim in the water

Question
I have two turtles a young box turtle and a baby painted turtle, in the same terrarium. Because of this,whenever I feed the baby turtle in the water the box turtle goes in also to eat. Sometimes he stretches his head underwater to get sunken food pellets. Now he spends a lot of his time swimming in the water. Is that something a box turtle is normally found doing?

Hey Jesse,
it is a actually a case of imatating the painted turtle, but the box wont be hurt by this behavior, as he gets a little older though you will want to change the box turtles habitat that is more to his own natural comfort.
