I have been reading about the lighting problems, we have a r-zilla combo dome and Louie has just started keeping his eyes closed all the time.  What lighting do you absolutely recommend, I need to get one ASAP.  I have turned the white light off for now, leaving his basking red light on.  
He also isn't interested in eating, he now will open an eye and watch his crickets, start to go after them, but quit.  Could this be all the same problem??  He used to pig down everything I would give him!!

Hello Jackie,

Great that you have turned off the R-Zilla light!  Those are the worst lights.  I am disgusted that they are still selling those things.
The best UVB you can get is the Reptisun 10 flourescent tube UVB light. Do not get a compact or coil light though those are really bad also.
As for the basking light, turn the red one off & get a bright white halogen light for basking.  How are you taking the temps, are you using a digital probe or a temp gun?  What are the temps?  
Begin giving him daily baths & extra oral hydration daily too.  
How long was he underneath the R-Zilla light?
Keep me posted on him.  If he does not begin eating, we will need to intervene for awhile.
