Swelling Under Eye

Question
Hi, it's been awhile since I last emailed you. This is because my Water Dragon has been doing well since then.

But over a days time a swollen mass has appeared under the left eye. I don't think it's causing any pain since her behavior is the same but when I touched it she swung her head away.

Here is a pic of her right eye. The normal one.

Sorry for the bad quality but I think it's important you see it yourself.

Anyway I did some research on what this could be and what could cause it. The closest thing I found was something called hypervitaminosis A. Overdose of vitamin A.

The reason I think this could be it is the calcium supplement I sprinkle on the food contains 21,600IU of Vitamin A per 60g. I'm not an expert in measurements but that sounds like too much.

The other supplement contains 219,900 IU/kg of Vitamin A.
So that would equal 13,194 IU/60g

Still sounds like too much A. Maybe I'm getting too ahead of myself but those are my suspicions.

Note: She's been having mouth rot on the left side as well. I use diluted Betadine on it daily. Could this cause the swelling?

What do you think could be the problem?

Answer
Hello Chase,

What calcium supplement do you use?  Repcal calcium?
Which supplement contains the Vitamin A in it, what is the brand called?
Yes, hypervitaminosis A can cause problems like that.
Are there any other bony protrusions on the spinal column that you can see?
Mouthrot, what has caused that?  Did she injure her mouth?  Sometimes the dried crickets have sharp pieces & that could have hurt her mouth.  If the mouth is infected, yes, infection can & will travel to the sinus cavity.
The basking temps should only be around 90 or so.  Can you get the basking temp a bit lower?

Let me know how she is doing.
