Question
how do i clean them from bacteria and stuff...like the temps of the stove and all that

Answer
Hello Chris, be sure the wood you bring in from outside is not Cedar or Pine. They are both poisonous and deadly to all reptiles.
You can soak them in a bleach SOLUTION not pure bleach. Use a 1 part bleach to 10 parts (cold) water. Place the item from outside in the solution for an hour. Rinse well, until you have absolutely no smell of bleach on the item. Then let them dry in the sun (on a table) for five days or so to make sure all of the bleach has dissipated.

Another method is to bake the wood, the problem with this method however is that in order to sanitize the wood you will have to reach temperatures of around 485 degrees Fahrenheit. Which will most likely damage your piece of wood. Rocks are ok at this temperature however.

To be extra safe you can do both techniques (this is what I do with my outdoor reptile decor) But with wood the bleach solution will kill the germs on the wood, and if you use your oven at 375 for an hour afterwards you wood should be safe and it will help with sanitizing.

But baking alone you need temps of 485 F

Good luck
