Question
My bearded dragon has  not pooped in 2 days.  I took her to the vet today they did an X-ray. It looks like pressure is pushing on her spine. Now she is dragging her back legs!!  Someone at a pet store told me not to give her calcium anymore. Said she gets enough from the cricket food:-((( I have got to help her.
She keeps filling herself with air.  Please help me.i had no idea  the large meal worms could cause such a problem! She is only 8 months old.

Answer
Hello Deanna,

Sorry your female is impacted!
Which UVB light are you using, a long tube bulb or a compact/coil light?  How close is it to her?
How often do you give calcium now?
What is her age?
Cutting down on calcium isn't always wise, it just depends on the situation.
The mealies have a hard shell which is hard to digest normally.
You can get some canned pumpkin, sugar free applesauce & squash baby food, mixed with olive or mineral oil & use a plastic syringe or dropper to feed it to her.
Have you given her a bath also?

I would not feed any solid foods right now, until she passes the impaction.
Do you have her on a solid substrate like carpet or tiles, or a loose substrate?

Let me know how she is doing.
