Can a Schneider Skink and Yellow Throated Plated Lizard live together in the same tank?

Question
Strange situation...my daughter had a Schneider's Skink (not sure of the sex - pet store thought maybe a female but not certain) and she somehow escaped from her tank and we couldn't find her.  Our house has a lot of places that she could've gone to and we looked the best we could.  Several days later after not finding her, I bought my daughter a Yellow Throated Plated Lizard to cheer her up.  The pet store thought maybe the plated is a male because of colors and bumps underneath but not certain.  Anyhow, tonight we found her Schneiders Skink.  Yay!!!  We put her in her old 10 gal tank and we have the Plated in a 30 gallon tank.  Any chance that these 2 could live in the same tank together?  We are fairly new to the "reptile" world (since 06.09) and are still learning.  She doesn't want to take back her plated now but obviously wants to keep her skink.  Please help.

Thanks.

Answer
The skink is from NW Africa. The Plated Lizard is from S. Africa. Though they are often found in similar habitat conditions, they are not native to the same region, and immunities are often geographical and differ with species. I don't house anything together that does not occur together naturally in the wild. They may also feel threatened by each other having another species in close proximity that they would not deal with in the wild. I would recommend two habitats. That means two backing lights, two UVB lights, etc.
