Question
Hi Diane, i caught a blue tongue lizard in my backyard 2 weeks ago and i think it's pregnant. It's covered in these little moving balls and when popped they are full of blood. just wondering if you have any idea what they could be? They sort of look like ticks and covered in white spots. Hopeing not to be fatal and if serious will be taken to a vet of some sort.

Answer
Hi Jessica,
The part about the blood squirting out says a tick. Ticks can be fatal to lizards as they do live on blood and they can also cause serious disease to the reptile, and also to humans. The moving balls and covered in white spots do throw me off a bit.  How big are the "things" and do they have legs and also how is it attached to the lizard? When you pop it, are you removing it?
There are products such as "Reptile Relief" that will kill the ticks. Its available in most larger pet stores. With the lizard being caught outside, its best to return it to where you found. They do carry diseases that can harm humans and other pets.
Most lizards that are taken from the wild die from stress or starvation.
If you are only planning on helping the lizard with removing the ticks..that great, but do be careful so that none of the ticks end up on your or in your home.
