Question
QUESTION: Hi, my leopard geckos have not been eating well. At firt they didn't eat anything then I started feeding them baby food. That got them to start eating crickets again but I don't think they are digesting them. What should i do?

ANSWER: Hello Chris,

How large of a tank do you have your leos in & are they male & female or two males or two females?
Do you have an undertank heater on the underneath side of one end for them that is on 24/7?  They need belly heat to digest properly as well as a basking spot of around 88-90 daily.
Do you have a humid hide for them as well?
What are your temps & how do you measure them?
What do the stools look like?  Are they formed?

QUESTION: I have 3 leo's one is about 4in (without tail) that one is a male, the 2nd one is a 3in female, and the last one is a 2 1/2 in female. A friend gave them t me because he said they were not eatting and he didn't know what to do they all looked like walking bones so i took them on april 5th and started feeding them 3 times A day with baby food chicken mixed with pedilyte, calcium powder and a reptile vitimin mix and I use a syring to feed them and I offer them gut loaded crickets and wax worms (the wax worms was offered to the male only because they looked too big for the babies). The bigest ate 2 waxworms and 1 sm. cricket on Tuesday and Wed. morning I found the 1 waxworm that looked almost they same way it went in only now it was dead and the leo didn't eat as much as he usally did 5cc that afternoon when I got home from work I went to feed them and saw the other waxworm looking the same way (I can't tell if they were pooped out or regurgitated) again he did not eat much (he has not touched any crickets or waxworms since) On thurs. the 3in leo ate 5 sm crickets and on fri. thought out the day I found them mixed in her poo and she doesn't want to eat now (I know she pooped them out becace there was evidence on her bottom) The smallest leo acts like she is afraid of the crickets and runs from them. They are in A 10 gallon tank they have a heater under they tank 24hrs. and a light on them during the day the temp. in the basking light around 90 they have 2 hiding places one at the undertank heater and one on the other side of the tank. I have a button style temp. gauge that is about 2/3 up the tank I don't know what kind it was what my friend gave me with the leo's. The stools look like baby food and some look like bird poo but without the white color.

Answer
Hello Chris,

OK, a 10 gallon is ok, but it is a little crowded.  Can you upgrade to a 20 gallon, if you are going to house 3 together?
Keep trying with the babyfood, as they absolutely need to get some type of nourishment into them.  Are you adding calcium into the babyfood as well?
Great that you have an undertank heater on 24/7 as well as a basking light.  The hotspot of 90 is fine, for during the day.  Ok, one hiding spot on the cool end & one on the warm end, that sounds just about right, no problem.  Are you using paper towels for substrate?
If they are pooping, but do NOT have any urates then, they are badly dehydrated.  So you are going to have to start getting some oral fluids into them daily, in the form of water & pedialyte.  Being dehydrated like that will cause renal problems in the long run, & right now, they may not make it if they are that dehydrated.
So start working on that now, hydrating them daily, that should help tremendously.
Also, they may also have parasites or worms.  Could you possibly take in fecal samples to the vet to analyze them?  I realize you have not had them very long, so they may have some stress with relocation too which increases their  parasite levels, too.
Keep me posted on them.
