Question
QUESTION: Hi Diane! just wanted to thank you for all your help and let you know my leopard gecko is doing great!! Her jaw has been healing steadily although she is still in some amount of pain and it seems to have healed a bit crooked (her mouth looks a little goofy) She seems a lot more energetic and is finally eating very anxiously! I started her back on waxworms just to get something in her stomach and she's now happily eating small mealworms and crickets just wanted to thank you for all your help you're the best!!

ANSWER: Wonderful News!!
On the mealworms, if you feed the "fresh shed" ones they are softer and she may do better with them.  They are the ones that are almost white in color.
Having a good supply of fresh shed is really pretty easy. All you do is  get a good supply of mealworms...about 250 of them works.  Place them in a cat litter pan with some grains such as oatmeal, wheat germ, etc...or you can use cricket food(the meal kind)...throw some veggies in there with some cardboard egg cartons...keep them at room temperature and in a short time you will be breeding your own meal worms which give you a great supply of various sizes of them and fresh sheds.  The worms turn into beetles..beetles lay eggs..eggs hatch..
I've been raising my own mealies for better than a year.
Glad to hear your leo is healing and doing well and thanks for the update!

QUESTION: Ok just wondering in regards to the breeding of meal worms.. Can I feed the beetles to my leo's? I havent read anything thats for or against that...If not can I feed them to my bearded dragon? My beardies still a juvenile but Im not sure if she can eat beetles if not I can always feed them to my emperor scorpion or my tarantula I guess! I have lots of weird stuff lol

Answer
The beetles when they first emerge are fine to use as food.  They will be almost all white.  Once they "age" a bit its not recommended to use them on the lizards for food as they get very hard and can cause problems with impaction.(for the beardies, a couple of the dark ones on occasion won't hurt)  With your scorpion, I would feed them a limited amount until you see how he does with them.
Even with the lizards, you don't want to make it their main diet.
