Question
QUESTION: Tracie,

Apparently I ask too many questions, so I had to start a new thread!  I came home to Latte's normal formed stool today (hooray!).  Latte is still skinny but slightly less lethargic (he actually put up a fight when I tried to handle him today).  After reading your other thread, I ordered Panacur from beautifuldragons.com.  I figured I'd have it on hand if it came to it.  Latte is tiny, so would I need a 0.1 cc dose as well?  I will definitely give Latte some pedialyte.  I have been dropping water with the food and separately on Latte's nose.  Latte was also resting on his water dish today, so hopefully he was drinking it when I wasn't looking.  Thanks again for all of your help!

In other news, PetSmart is willing to work with me.  I spoke to the store manager on Friday, and she said she'd extend the time for me to have my gecko and was glad I was trying so hard to help.  I have you to thank for all of the help Tracie!  Thanks again!

ANSWER: Hello Heather!

That's fine, they allow only so many follow ups per thread until you have to start a new one.  :-)
Great, it sounds like Latte is starting to do much better now.  That is excellent & that he put up a little fight when you tried to handle him means he is feeling better too.
He will probably need less than the .1ml dose.  Do you know how much he weighs?
I would continue giving the water daily as much as he wants along with the pedialyte also.
That is great Petco is working with you on that!
I think you should be able to get him to health here with the fluids, & the deworming too.  At least he is slowly improving now.

Thanks for the updates on Latte!

QUESTION: Tracie,

Latte is back to diarrhea; there seems to be a bright green in it now.  I also noticed Latte could only open one eye.  I gave him a warm soak and gently rubbed the closed eye which seemed stuck, and he can open it now.  Also, his belly is a bit plump - maybe that's the food?  But it also seems dark in coloration.  I unfortunately do not have a scale sensitive enough to weigh him.  I have attached an image, but I have put more here: http://s1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff384/hnathans/.  Thank you again!

ANSWER: Hello Heather,

Oh no!  Not again.  His belly looks a little round.  That could be the food yes.  I don't think he is impacted however.
How much medication did you give?  At his weight, I would estimate only giving .025ml for him as he is so small he doesn't need much.  Do you have a syringe to measure that small of an amount?
Is he alert this evening?
Keep me posted on Latte!

QUESTION: Tracie,

That's good - I was worried about the tummy.  Could the eye problem also be from the parasites?  I unfortunately haven't gotten the meds yet; they got delayed with the holiday and the blizzard where I am.  I ordered a 0.5 cc syringe, but I'm pretty sure I can estimate 0.025 ml on that size.  Latte is not very alert today, and had barely any interest in the food or water.  He is just sitting in one spot with his head pointed upward.  Unfortunately I am going away for a few days and now I am dreading leaving him and I feel awful.  Thanks again for the input!  I'm such a mess about this.

Answer
Hello Heather!

Oh that is too bad, the blizzard has held a lot of things up I am sure!
Yes, that small of a syringe you should be able to get that amount of medication in the syringe.
Oh when they do not feel good a lot of times, they will just close their eyes a lot yes.  The parasites are causing him to not feel so great for sure.
Do you have anyone that could help watch him while you are gone for a few days?  He still needs his food & some fluids if possible.
How much food has he taken in recently?  How does his little belly look today?

I hope that he gets better soon!

Tracie
