Baby Crested Gecko not eating

Question
We purchased a baby Crested Gecko just shy of two weeks ago. We are providing small, live crickets, baby food and crested gecko diet that you mix with water.  We are concerned because he doesn't appear to be eating and he's getting thinner.  We cleaned the habitat over the weekend and did find droppings.  He is active and alert - should we be concerned.  Should we be offering anything else?  How many crickets should we offer at a time?

Answer
Baby cresties are so small that sometimes it is hard to tell if they are eating.  One thing you need to be careful of is leaving crickets in his cage for any extended amount of time.  They will kill a small animal.  (I unfortunately found that out the hard way).

If he's eating the T-Rex diet (Repashy SuperFoods), he really doesn't need baby food - it only adds unnecessary sugar.  Crested Gecko Diet is very well balanced.

His lack of eating could be from an incorrect setup, environmental stress, low/high humidity, low/high temps, etc.  Take a look at this link to make sure the setup is correct: http://www.ciliatus.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=28&Ite...    It's possible that all your problems are coming from there.

I would only offer 1-2 crickets at a time, maybe 1-2 times per week (especially since he's small). Adding more will increase the possibility of them killing or injuring him.  They diet in the wild is made up of mostly fruit (rotting fruit at that).  It's ok to leave the food in there a few days but don't let it mold or dry out completely.
