Question
ran out of meal worms and the local place i buy them is closed. the bait shop has wax worms. can i substitute?

Answer
Dear Missy,
thank you for your question.
You can feed waxworms, but they are even more fatty than mealworms. If you can get crickets, locusts or roaches, I would try those. They are more active than wax or mealworms and more interesting for the gecko to hunt.
The waxworms will turn into moths eventually, who can also be fed. They may eat through plastic containers, so it's a good idea to keep their container in another box.
I hope I was of some help to you
Jennifer
