Brown Anole problems

Question
I rescued a brown anole lizard about a year ago from our local grocery store.  We set up a 10 gallon tank, with a UVA/UVB light, rocks, branches, hiding places, water bowl, etc.. and I mist him twice every day. I would say he is full grown, and everything has been going well.  Lately he stopped basking and started to hide more, then three days ago he shed skin, ate a cricket and the next morning it looked like he had a seizure. He is still alive, however, his hind legs don't have much movement, his front legs do move but not well, and he can pick his head up. Today he moved his tail (slight wagging back and forth) and one of his hind legs moved a bit.  I have been feeding him meal worms instead of crickets and we changed the UVA/UVB bulb.  My fear is that he has metabolic bone disorder, we don't have a local reptile vet so I am hoping to get your assistance in treating my lovely anole.  Thank you for your time, Jami K.

Answer
Hello Jami,

Oh poor anole!  They are so cute.
Do you have a basking light for him?  What type & brand of UVB are you using?  Is it a flourescent tube light or a compact or coil light?
What sized crickets are you feeding?  The prey should be smaller than the space between the eyes.  Otherwise, he can get impacted.
What type of substrate is he on?  Anything loose?
What about calcium supplementation, what type & brand are you using?
I do need to know the exact type of UVB you are using.  There are some out there right now that are very bad & dangerous too.

Let me know how he is doing.
