2 Female Leopard Geckos.

Question
Hi. I literally just bought a small female leopard gecko. I am interested in breeding it with my male when she gets big enough, but she has to share a cage with my other female leopard gecko. My larger one isn't mature size(aboout 3 years old) but my baby is about the size of half a pencil. Do you think my larger one will attack or eat my smaller one?

P.S. My bigger one is pregnant and she's pretty cranky. I don't know if that helps though.

Thanks and please respond quickly.

Answer
I'm not sure on some of the information you give here, like "mature size" and all. At 3 years old, a Leo should be pretty well matured or she definitely has no business being gravid. Something is wrong with her care if that is the case and you're risking egg binding and other complications. Females can be a bit nasty at these times and keeping a smaller reptile with a larger one is always a no, no if the size difference is such that one could eat or seriously injure the other, or there is stress factors due to territorial behavior. The assumption must always be that one reptile will see another one who is significantly smaller as "food". Too many people out there don't get that and think everyone in the tank is going to be friends, but that is not how the reptile thinks.
