Question
Pam
we are going out of town and want to take our BD with us.  Travel will take a 2 day car trip, then we wanted to have a pseudo home for him while staying with relatives.  We wanted to know if this will be ok for him he is approx 8 month old.  Travel in the car we were thinking about getting him a large critter carier and taking a plug in adapter so we could bring his basking light from home to use.  Do you have any advice or suggestions for his care while on the road and at a relatives house?  Thanks Kellie and Tiffanie

Answer
If your beardie is a juvenile or full adult, you csn get a few 40 hour heat packs, activate one or two, wrap him up in a towel or baby blanket, and let him sleep the road trip comfortably.  Take his lights and a large enough carrier or folding reptarium (like an Apogee) to allow him to thermoregulate and move around comfortably at your relatives.  Then let him sleep the ride home with the other heat packs to keep him comfy.  Make sure where you are going will have his proper foods or take his salad with you in a cooler.  His crickets can be transported in a proper cricket keeper, or supers can be kept in a tupperware with pinholes for air.
