Question
Hi, So I have 2 questions:
1: Is a 10 gallon tank too large to start out 2 blue dart frogs until they have reached 6 months of age and can move to a larger house?
2: I recently aquired a 30 gallon tank. It is technically an acquarium and I want to turn it into a vivarium. So I cleaned it out with vinegar and baking soda but there is still some white film I believe to be lime on the glass. What chemicals can I use to clean it that will not be harmful to dart frogs?
Thanks,
Sarah

Answer
Dear Sarah,
thank you for your question.
A 10g is fine for two Dendrobates azureus. If you can get them, put tropical woodlice (those are white and smaller than the normal woodlice) and springtails in the substrate. They will keep the tank clean and the frogs will hunt for them.
Lemon juice works very well for cleaning up lime residue. Just slice a lemon or lime up and wipe the glass with the slices. After letting it soak for a few minutes, wipe with warm water and dry the glas off. You might have to repeat that a few times, but it usually works well. You can also try to remove the stains with a razorblade or one of those scrapers meant for Ceran stoves (glass-ceramic stoves).
I hope I was of some help to you
