Question

My Anole
I just have a quick question. I got an anole lizard from the wild about 5 days ago. He has proper lighting, a heat source, water bowl, water bottle (for us to spray on plants in case he doesn't drink from the water bowl), a baby cricket, and he's still not eating. I've also tried feeding him numerous amount of different bugs. What do we do? Also, he's brown in the cage most of the time (because he's stressed from being brought out of the wild) then we pick him up and he turns green like he's okay.Is there something wrong?

Answer
From the picture he looks like he's in good shape.  Reptiles usually don't eat when they are put in a new environment.  Captive bred reptiles can go to almost a week before they start eating, all from relocation stress.
Wild caughts stress even more since they are used to the wild.  Many wild caught lizards to not fair well in a small tank as their captive bred cousins, so I would advise, for the lizard's well being, to take him back out, and let him go where you caught him.  Then, if you want a reptile pet, you can inquire about reptile rescues in your state.  Herpetological societies and reptile veterinarians would probably know where they are if they don't advertise.  There are captive born lizards out there who would love a forever home.
