Hole in bearded dragons back

Question
QUESTION: Hi! I woke up this morning to find by dragon has a hole in his back. I believe he's pierced it on a sharp part of his log as it wasn't there yesterday. He isn't bothered by it but it is really deep and I'm worried it will get infected if I don't do something! Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated, is there a disinfectant I should use or should I cover it up or just leave it to scab, it's a puncture about 2mm in diameter and about the same depth. It isn't bleeding but has clear fluid in it. Please let me know if I should take him to the vet wait to see if it heals b4 that. I love Draco so much and I'm really worried about him

ANSWER: Hello Bobby-Jane,

Sorry to hear your dragon hurt his back.  What did he pierce it on?
Do you have any antibiotic ointment?  You can fill in the hold with the ointment right now to try & keep any infection away.
Do you have any pictures of Draco?
I am glad it isn't bleeding though.  Hopefully you can ward off any infection.

Let me know how he is doing!

QUESTION: Hi tracie! Thanks for your advice & quick reply. I'm much happier with how it's healing already, it's scanned over today & he's not at all fazed by it when I touch it. I'll go get some antiseptic tomorrow just in case. I tried to attach a pic but the function doesn't work!
Thanks again

Answer
Hello Bobby-Jane,

That is great it looks as though it is starting to heal over now.  Just keep it clean & his body should do the rest.  Keep some ointment on it for awhile, too.
Let me know how he is doing.
Do you have a vitticeps or barbata?
