QUESTION: I saw a fellow in Home Depot yesterday carrying two reptiles who were attached to him (they were hanging off his shirt) -- what kind of reptiles are they?  Thanks, David

ANSWER: Hi David,
They are Bearded Dragons, which have become kind of popular as pets.  They generally have a sweet temperament and don't get larger than two feet total length.  They do have specific care needs such as diet, temperatures, UVB and of course other areas of care.  If you would like more info, let me know.

QUESTION: Thanks for letting me know.  Isn't it unusual to carry them around like this?  Are they OK with this type of handling? Thx

Answer
Hi David,
Bearded Dragons are generally very social and love to show off and be shown off.  The main thing with taking them out like that is to not allow them to get too cool for too long a period of time.  At normal room temperatures, they would cool in a few hours.  If they have a chance to warm back up every now and then, its generally OK to have them out like that.
It looks like that person has done a good job of socializing his two lizards.
