Question
Hi, I just brought my Blood python(Python Curtus) from my supplier, i notice there's some sticky fluid flowing through its mouth. Woder if that is snake flu. As i did check with the seller, he said its normal, as the snake travelled under air-conditoned surroundings. Its just normal cold that most snakes encounter during travelling. Would like to know if it will recover. Thank you.

Answer
Don't trust it to do so on it's own.  Heat the snake up and keep the humidity high in it's cage.  Bloods are touchy when it come to respiratory infections.  If the fluid does not clear in 2-3 days find a vet and ask for Amikacin (sic).  It is the antibiotic I perfer w/ pythons.  The vet may recommend Baytril which works great in colubrids, but I have had MUCH better luck w/ Amikacin for pythons.
