My beardie;s beard stays black

Pam, I have a 1 yr old male beardie who has dysecdysis. I tried mineral  oil and Shed aid but i notice that after holding him yesterday, his beard turned black and still hasn't changed back. He started to dig under his step/cave and he slept under it. Can you tell me what  to do

 I would increase bathing in lukewarm water, and place a nice rough stone in his habitat that he can rum himself on.  Keep him well hydrated with wet salads.  I have also found that warmed coconut oil rubbed in after the bath with also help not only lift the dead skin, but condition the hide and leave your dragon kissing sweet.
