turtles health

Question
is it bad if my turtle a res about one year old is opening its mouth like if its gasping for air and making chirping noises?
if so what can i do to help my turtle not to die?

Hello Sonia,

No that is not good at all.
He either is choking on something, or, he has a respiratory infection.  What type of substrate is he on?  
What are the temps in his tank, & what do you measure the temps with?
He can get a respirator infection if his temps are too cold.  He needs to see a vet though as he is having trouble breathing.
