Tree Frogs With Chameleon

Question
Hello Thea, sorry I forgot to do a follow-up. Thanks for the quick reply last time. I asked you about Tree Frogs with a Panter Chameleon. Well I researched about the white tree frog, and read that they are really well to keep. I have to say the white tree frog is kind of ugly to me. I really like the white lipped tree frog, argus reed tree frog, black eyed tree frog, red eyed tree frog, green tree frog, and painted reed tree frog being my favorite. I was wondering if any of these would be fine with a chameleon. Thank you for your time, I really do apperciate it.

Answer
Hello again, Yes, lol, people tend to find that White's treefrogs are either adorable or hideous. The White lipped is a close relative of the White's and would, I believe, be the best choice from your list. Their humidity requirements are higher then that of White's so you will need to make the extra effort to maintain that. I think that Green tree frogs would also do well, they are smaller then the white- lipped but quite hardy.  I kept red-eyes (related to black-eyes) for years and I think that they may be just a bit too delicate to fare well in a shared enclosure. Reed frogs are lovely little frogs, I maintained a breeding colony of them at one point. I really think though that they are far too small for your set-up. They are only around an inch or 3 cm long. That presents two problems. The reeds would require quite small crickets. It simplifies things greatly if everyone eats the same size crickets.  Also, the activity period of your chameleon and your frogs will quite possibly overlap briefly at dawn or dusk and reed frogs are small enough to be a meal for an adult panther!
