Question
Ok my leopard gecko has been taken to the vet where I was told his eyes were being burnt by the purple lights I was using and how he wasn't getting the neacessary nutrients because I was using all purple lights and nothing else. Since this has happened he has lost 3G and I'm getting worried. He is pooping fine but not where he normally does. He doesn't like being placed back in his cage and all he is eating is his med and the food I put in the syringe please tell me what I can do the vet said no saline for the eyes. Am I going crazy is their anything I can do help :(((

Answer
Hello Rachil,

I am sorry about the lights hurting his eyes.
Are his eyes still not looking good?  Did the vet not give any eye ointment to help?
If not, the saline solution is fine for him, it wont hurt the eyes at all.
Continue feeding the chicken & or turkey baby food daily for him until he begins to eat on his own.  Are you adding a small amount of calcium in with the food also?
What heating/lighting are you using now, just a regular basking light?
You can also find/purchase some bee pollen at the health food store to sprinkle in with the food.  This helps with immune system boosting & appetite.
Which medication is he on?

Let me know how he is doing.
