Question
QUESTION: Hi tracie its Karissa again. Henry Clay fell from the top of his cage and face down in his water dish! I don't know how long he was face down in the water for. Something told me to check on his because last time I saw him he was a the top of his cage and then I found him in his water dish! He is alive but he seems really stressed. Do you think he has any internal injuries and that the water may have gotten into his lungs and can cause an infection? I'm freaking out right now because I'm so worried about him.

ANSWER: Hello Karissa,

Oh no, I am sorry to hear about Henry Clay falling.  How far of a fall is that for him?
I wouldn't think he should have internal injuries, can he walk/climb normally?  Are his colors darker than normal?
As far as water getting into his lungs, that is a possibility.  Maybe for now, try to keep his tank temperatures up to at least 80 overnight to help boost his immune system.  Try using a ceramic heat emitter for help with getting it a little warmer in there.
Is he acting like he is in pain or breathing strangely or wheezing, etc?

Let me know how he is doing.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: He fell about a foot from the top of cage and lanes on his tree decor that had his water dish. He's walking normally and is colors are darker than usual. He doesn't seem to be breathing abnormally. I'll try keeping the temperature higher if you think it's a good idea.

Answer
Hello Karissa,

Yes, maybe just slightly for a week or two just to be sure he doesn't show any signs of a respiratory infection.
I am glad he doesn't appear to be injured.  A foot isn't too terribly far, but they can injure themselves from short falls like that.
Has he eaten since he fell?  Let me know how he is doing.
