Green Anole colors

My green anole changes colors (like all green anoles do.) i would like to know what the colors mean, like if they are a certain color what is their current emotion. I would also like to know if the green anole AND longtail lizards can eat non-living food. Thank You!!!

Usually, if they are a bright green, they are optimal temperature which means they are not too hot or not too cold, & are not stressed.
When they darken up in color, they are either too cold & trying to soak up any heat that they can or they are stressed.  
They can eat non living food, but they prefer live food.  It is healthier for them to eat live prey because it simulates their life in nature.
