I found an egg in my Anole tank!

Question
I have no idea what to do with it. I really want to hatch it & others if they appear. My only problem is I am really afraid to move it. I know I have to get it out of the tank so my anoles don't try to eat it. For the time being I put a hairspray lid on top of it with a rock on top of that. I was thinking about putting sand in a babyfood jar and poking a few holes in the top and keeping the egg in there in the tank. I figured it was the only place I know that it would stay warm enough.

So basically I just wanted to know what the best way was to move the egg, whether or not the egg will survive if I keep them in the baby food jar, the likelyhood of me succeeding, and what to be prepared for if the lizard is born.

Anything will help! Thankyousomuch:]

Answer
Brittany, You need to put it in some vermiculite, sterile soil,or moss in your tank in a small low container about 2 inches deep.....keep the area misted now and then as always. This is the thing if it hatches you will need to move it to its own tank or they will eat it. I am going to send you a sheet on care for your anole eggs. Good Luck, Tina
