Question
QUESTION: http://www.mrpets.ca/Products/ProductList.aspx?ID=278&categoryID=6 hi its me david again :P

there are infrared light bulbs im wondering if they heat or are just red bulbs for waching lizards at night im not looking for heating.

thanks
david :P

ANSWER: Hi David-
I believe that infrared is describing the wave length/color of the light which of course is red

The wattage should be a clue as to how much heat that the bulb will give off
I use 15 to 25 watt red bulbs for night viewing

I have used the red "party bulbs" for night viewing with np-these are around $3 to $5 and can be usually be found in the lighting section of any store

Also look on the package of the any bulb to see if it use for heating

Hope this helps

QUESTION: hey its me david again are pheonix worms good for geckos they say they dont need to gut-load them and dont need to dust them because they have 21-61% more calci then other insects so are they good

Answer
Hi David
I have read that Phoenix worms are good nutrition -but like any new feeder-it depends if they will take them or not

Also-I never tried them because they are the larvae of a soldier fly
Maybe I'm weird but I don't want flies hatching in my house
lol

I would find out what size the larvae are and buy a very small amount to try them

Take care
