Question
I am currently about to move to Texas and I was wondering if a leopard
gecko can survive a 14 hour trip. If it can how could I safely transport her.if I
have to give her away, please tell me. I do not want to risk her getting over
stressed and dying when we get there. Thank you

Answer
Hi Kiran,
There should be no problem with your leo making the trip.
You don't want to transport in a glass tank as that if there was an accident, the risk of the tank breaking is great.
I would use a small(shoebox sized, or larger) plastic or cardboard container or  with air holes in the sides and the lid...LOTS of air holes!!!   If you are going to be running the A/C in the car, I would place a small disposable heat pack in  the container.  Be sure to cover it with a wash cloth so your leo can't lay directly on the heat pack.  I would also place a hand towel on the bottom of the container to pad it and so your leo has footing and it will also help absorb the bouncing of the car. Do provide a cave so that she can have darkness.
Do be sure to check on her to make sure she isn't overheating and be sure to keep the box out of any direct sunlight as that will cause the container to get hot very fast.  Also, be careful if you place the box on the floor of the car as that some areas of the floor get very hot!!! Good luck with your move and if you take the precautions I mention above, your leo should do fine with the move.  Also, I would keep her current home just as it is...don't use the move as a reason to scrub the tank down, rearrange it, etc because keeping it as it is right now will help her feel more comfortable when you get to TX.
