Bearded Dragon and Mealworms

Question
Hi I was just wondering if a Apogee Reptarium is a good home for an adult bearded dragon. I live in Canada as well and I plan on using it as an indoor home for my beardie.
And also it's off subject but I was wondering if you know if mealworms any size can climb up the clue used to hold aquariums together? It's sounds stupid but I'm extremely paranoid, cause I'm breeding mealworms and I don't want to get invested with them!

Answer
Hi Nichole, The Reptariums are fine for beardeds. I think the additional ventilation is healthy and they are nice and light for moving outside in the summer for some real sunshine. They don't hold the heat as well as a glass tank so you may have to use a slightly higher wattage of lamp then you would in a similar size glass tank.
I've been breeding both large and small mealworms for several years. The larva (the worms themselves) are very poor climbers and instinctively head down rather then up. You don't have to worry about them at all. When they reach the beetle stage they are much better climbers. I've never raised them in tanks so I don't really know if they are inclined to go up the silicone or not. I used to raise crickets in tanks and the secret to keeping them from doing the same thing is a piece of packing tape of slick scotch tape near the top over the silicone. Any beetles that are adventurous enough to get up there will fall back down when they hit the tape.
They need a suitable environment to reproduce though so even if any escaped you would not become infested, they are not like roaches in that way.
