My mali uromastyk

My mali uromastyk is just over a year old. And he's starting to act funny. If you touch while he's in his cage he'll move side to side and starts hissing. I've never seen him do this I wondering if he's hitting some kind of hormone level? Any suggestion what might be wrong with him?

Well, he could be going through a hormonal surge as this is early spring so breeding season is coming up.
However, what type of setup do you have?  What type of lighting are you using?  Are you using UVB lighting, & if so what type & brand are you using, a flourescent tube bulb or a compact or coil light?
What are you feeding him?
What are the temps in the tank, & how do you measure them?
