Question
QUESTION: HI, I have a white's tree frog that it's a couple of years old and It has the red leg disease.  I read that it is good to give it some tetracyclene hydrochloride, but where can I buy that?

ANSWER: Hi Kedya, Tetracycline is sold as a fish medication, you should be able to get it at any store that sells aquarium supplies. Not all the causitive agents of red leg are sensitive to tetracycline but it is certainly worth a try. It can be difficult to find a vet that will treat amphibians but seeing a vet would be your best option.
Make sure your frog has access to a warm area of 85 - 90 F. That will boost his immune system to help him fight the infection. Keep his enclosure slightly dry and extremely clean. Handle him as little as possible. Good luck.

QUESTION: should it be injested?

Answer
Hi Kedya, The way I have always used it is to prepare a water solution with it as per the instructions and soak them in it. I prepare a  fresh solution daily and put that in the cage for a couple days as well.It can be ingested but the stress and handling required to get it into them that way is high. You would also have to weigh your frog and prepare the proper dosage to give it orally.
A little Polysporin or Neosporin (don't use iodine based products) on the lesions can be used as well.
