mating

today i went outside with my little brother and found 6 or 7 brown anoles i seperated the little ones from the bigger ones and i kept grass in the cage and when i picked up the pile of grass the boy and the girl where hugging one on top and on bottom is that mating formation anif it was how long does it take for the female lizard to have its first egg

thank you for your question.
That does sound like they are mating. The female will be gravid for about a month, make sure she has enough moist substrate to bury the eggs and that she gets enough calcium. Here's a website with good info on anole care
