Humidity levels for a bearded dragon

Question
I just purchased a baby Bearded Dragon, and he is on the second floor of a Cape style house.  There is AC in the room, but for some reason the Humidity level just isn't right.  I have 2 Humidity gauges, and one of them is always at like 60, the other is at like 40 or 45, we even take him out of the tank and leave the doors open with the AC running to dry to get it down.  I'm just worried about the little guy, he seems fine now, but what can I do to get the levels down more? please help me.

Answer
Hey Craig,

let me know what the actuall tank temp is, first make sure yo have know live or potted plants in the tank, and NO SAND as bays well ingest it and impact there digestive tract causing death, use caci-sand (a digestable calcium loaded grit.also echo-block is good for babys, adults do very well with sand ,have a good heat lamp, if you have an over sized water supply you can make it smaller, and if it is central air, make sure tank isnt under a vent or near a window unit, you may want to even close the vent if it is central air, well let me know your temp and how the tank is set up, if you can take a pic send it to steffntom@optonline.net
