Question
QUESTION: hi tracie, i accidently got the zoo grade one instead of the normal. i thought this would be ok at first until i read that only zoos and herpetologist with a UV meter can have one. they said they had to have a call to confirm information, but they shipped it to me anyway. i know this light should be atleast 3 feet from my beardie but is there any other info u can help me with plz?

ANSWER: Hello Nick,
WOW they sent you a zoo grade anyway?  I am surprised that Bob did not catch that.
What size of tank do you have?  Do you have a screen top?
Can you show me a picture of the tank?
Did you get the Self Ballast or the External Ballast?  What wattage is it?

QUESTION: my tank is 60L X 26W X 33H, its mostly made up of screen insolated with fabric witch he cant clime up on. im not using a top so i got a 160wat. i know this viv isn't really that good, but im going to upgrade the screens to cheery wood and plexy glass. from there i will balance the temps out

ANSWER: Hello Nick,

Can you please look on the box & tell me what the uWcm2 states?  I was looking on the UV site & he has SB 160watts but those only need to be 18 inches away.  Are you sure that is not the case here?  Please check for me.
There is an EB zoo that has to be 3 feet away, as a friend uses that for a reptile display.
That must be a new product perhaps that I was not aware of.
Are you using a lightstand then to adjust the distance?

QUESTION: it is a SB 160watt zoo, and i just read that the minimum distance is 3 feet. sorry for the confusion. as for the uWcm2, i haven't actually received the package, but they took they money out of the account and got a e-mail of its order. also i am using a home made light stand, witch is essentially a sliding   tube thats attached to a fixture.

Answer
Hello Nick,
Well, that is what I have read just recently.  However, we have a 160watt SB as well, & the minimum distance on there is 18 inches.  The uWcm2 is roughly 150-200 at 16 or so inches.
Maybe they put the 3 feet in the wrong area, or for the wrong light perhaps.  We will wait to see what the box says, because it will indicate on there what it is as well as what the uWcm2 is & at what distance.
So what did you make your lightstand out of?  That is creative.  Cheaper than buying one.
Let me know what the data is when you get it.  You should get it this week then.
