Question
My geckois having trouble eating crickets. sometimes she passes them but they don't look digested. Other times she regurgerates them. she had a sore mouth about a year ago. Could it be the same thing. She licks he mouth with her tongue often

Answer
Hi, Frances.  What you're describing could be caused by a few different things:

1) Improper temperatures.  It may not be warm enough for her to digest her food properly.  Read up on the temperature requirements for the species of gecko you have, and use indoor/outdoor thermometers with remote probes to check temperatures where the gecko sits.  Add controlled heat if necessary to get the temperatures where they should be.

2) Wrong size food.  The crickets should be no larger than the space between the gecko's eyes.  They must be dusted with a calcium/D3 supplement every time, as crickets are too high in phosphorus.

3) Internal parasites.  Take a fresh (not dried out) fecal sample to your reptile-experienced vet, and have it tested for internal parasites.  These can generally be readily treated.  All wild-caught animals have a high risk of carrying parasites, as wholesalers and distributors rarely treat them for parasites.
